The Eriskay Connection is a Dutch studio for book design and an independent publisher. We focus on contemporary storytelling at the intersection of photography, research and writing. In close collaboration with authors we make books as autonomous bodies of work that provide us with new and necessary insights into the world around us. The key for us is to convey the essence of their work through high-quality editing, design, and production. Our editions are mainly offset printed and bound in the Netherlands and we strive to work with local producers and sustainable materials as much as possible.

SUBMIT YOUR PROJECT

We welcome open submissions, providing an opportunity for individuals with compelling projects that align with our publishing programme to propose their work to us. Please be aware that we are book designers by trade, and for many of the books we publish, we were also involved in the creation. We are open to publishing books with other designers if we feel the book fits our programme.

We kindly request that you submit, at a minimum:

A selection of (low-resolution) images sufficient to convey the project’s breadth. Please do not hesitate to provide an extensive set of images; we prefer to receive more rather than fewer.
An explanatory text detailing the project, along with any relevant excerpts from the project itself (if applicable).
A concise statement outlining your motivation for creating a book, your reasons for believing it suits our publishing house, and your expectations regarding a potential collaboration.

Due to the high number of propositions we receive, we only discuss and consider them about once a month. Unfortunately, for the same reason we are not able to respond to all of them.
